Similar to the Blackstorm editions of the Gloster and Astor, the Hector will also feature a completely blacked-out exterior with red accents. The headlamps and tail lamps will also have a smoked effect to complement the overall look. MG has released a teaser image of the upcoming Hector Blackstorm edition.

The front grille has been blacked out, and the MG logo also receives a dark chrome treatment. There is a red accent around the headlamp cluster, and the skid plate on the front bumper gets a darker shade compared to the regular version. The design of the alloy wheels on this version looks slightly different from the regular version. All chrome elements on the SUV will either be removed or replaced with gloss black elements.

The wheels are blacked out, and the front brake calipers receive a red treatment. On the front fender, we see the Blackstorm badge as well. The ORVM also gets a red accent. Just like the exterior, we expect the SUV to come with blacked-out interiors. The SUV will feature black leatherette upholstery with red accents in certain areas.

The SUV is expected to come with all the features that the regular Hector offers. The main attraction inside the MG Hector SUV is the large touchscreen infotainment screen.

MG claims that the 14-inch screen is the largest infotainment screen fitted to any car in India from the factory. MG will offer features like ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, ADAS, and so on.

The SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version of the MG Hector is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit that generates 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol version of the SUV is offered with a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox option. The diesel version of the SUV is available with a manual gearbox only.

The price for the MG Hector currently starts at Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 21.95 lakh, ex-showroom. The Blackstorm Edition is expected to be priced slightly higher than the top-end variant of the Hector. MG might only offer this with the top-end variant. The MG Gloster and Astor Blackstorm are already available for sale in the market. With the introduction of the Hector, MG’s entire ICE lineup will have Blackstorm Editions.

At a recent brand conference, MG confirmed that the manufacturer will be working on product lineup expansion and will be launching a new model every three or four months starting from September 2024. They also unveiled the Cyberster concept EV, which is a two-door performance model.
