2024 Creta S Trim: What’s On Offer In The Most VFM Variant [Video]

Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are the hottest-selling cars in the Indian Compact SUV segment. Both the SUVs have their own distinctive design and features. Today, we will talk about the mid-spec S variant of Hyundai Creta via a YouTube video uploaded by Fuel Injected. The YouTuber has humorously titled the video as “Yeh model hai asli Seltos Killer” and he calls this variant of the Creta as the most value for money variant. Now, let’s start with the details of the SUV.

At the front, it features the signature parametric black chrome grille complemented by the connect DRL. This variant looks exactly the same as the top end variant with features such as LED turn indicators and LED projector headlamps. However, it does not offer features such as ADAS and front parking sensors with camera. A gunmetal grey skid plate has also been added to give the SUV a muscular look.

Similar to the other SUVs in the market, the Creta also features black cladding all around the car for a rugged look. Adding to the visual appeal are 16-inch steel rims with smartly designed dual-tone wheel caps, which give it the illusion of alloy wheels. Talking about the features, it offers turn indicators mounted on ORVMs, which have electric adjustment only, along with roof rails and a shark fin antenna. This variant of the Creta does not offer keyless entry and push button start.

At the rear, the Creta is equipped with beautiful-looking LED-connected taillights. In addition to this, it features a spoiler with an integrated stop lamp, defogger and wiper with a washer. Adding to the convenience are reverse parking sensors and camera. The host mentions that the boot space of Creta is sufficient enough. The second row can be a 60:40 split to further increase the space if needed.

The host starts with the second row amenities which includes manual sun blinds, two adjustable headrests, armrest with twin cup holders, adjustable recline angle, two AC vents and two Type-C charging sockets. When talking about the space, the host states that the front seats are adjusted according to his height, which is 6 feet. It can be clearly observed that the Creta offers more than enough space in the rear seats.

This variant of Creta does not offer a sunroof. People who want the sunroof can buy the more expensive S(O) variant. After covering the second row of seats, the host sits in the driver seat, which comes with a height adjustment function.

Even though it is a mid variant, it offers plenty of features such as electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted controls, cruise control, auto headlamps, sunglass holder, fully digital instrument cluster, fabric upholstery and an 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

Powering the Hyundai Creta are two engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine which produces 115 PS/144 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol engine can be paired with a 6-speed MT or a CVT. On the other hand, the diesel engine can be mated to a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. However, this variant is not offered with the automatic transmission option.

A third engine option is also available in the Creta N Line, which is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol producing 160 PS and 253 Nm paired to a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed MT. Now let’s talk about the pricing. The base variant of Hyundai Creta costs Rs. 11 lakhs while the top end costs Rs. 20.15 lakhs ex-showroom. This particular variant which is the S costs Rs. 13.39 lakhs for the petrol and Rs. 14.89 lakhs for the diesel.
