Upcoming Maruti Entry Level eWX Electric Hatchback Showcased at Bangkok Auto Show

The Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) is taking place in Thailand from 27 March to 7 April this year. We have come across images and videos of upcoming cars at the show. Some of these models might make their way to India too. One such car that was unveiled to the public at the Motor Show was the Suzuki eWX electric hatchback concept. Suzuki showcased this at the Japan Mobility Show last year, and this year at the BIMS, we get a closer view of the same.

The video has been shared by Bunny Punia on his YouTube channel. As seen in the video, the upcoming eWX electric vehicle has a very cubicle-like design. The design is similar to some of the kei cars that were available in the Japanese market. Suzuki has only revealed the dimensions and the driving range of this electric hatchback. According to reports, the Suzuki eVX concept is 3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide, and 1,620 mm tall.

The design of the electric hatchback looks inspired by the Suzuki Solio but only smaller. The eVX concept, as per Suzuki, will have a driving range of 230 km on a single charge. The tall-boy design is extremely popular in many markets, including India (WagonR is a prime example). The tall-boy design of the car makes the cabin roomier and also increases the interior space.

The video shows the exterior of the eVX concept. The front grille of the electric hatchback is completely closed as expected in any EV. We see a rectangular light bar outlining the front grille with the Suzuki logo in the center. The front bumper gets LED lights, which are currently being showcased as turn indicators. The lower airdam doesn’t look closed, and the lower portion gets a muscular touch for an added bulky look.

Just like the exterior design, the lights on this concept are given a boxy look to match the overall theme. The concept gets boxy lights around the ORVMs, which are acting as integrated turn indicators. The wheels on this concept also look different. Suzuki has offered a neon green or kinetic yellow shade to the wheels with boxy design elements in them.

The concept gets a frameless door design with Kinetic Yellow accents. Just like the front, we see a rectangular light bar at the rear as well. We also have another set of lights below the taillight with LED turn indicators in them. The curved windshield at the front and rear gives the eWX concept a very unique look.

We also get a glimpse of the interiors in this video. The Kinetic Yellow shade on the interior, floating type center console, fully digital instrument cluster, and infotainment screen can be seen here. It should be noted that Suzuki or Maruti has not shared any details related to this particular concept, and we also have no idea about the launch timeline of this concept.

Maruti Suzuki is currently working on an electric SUV, which was showcased to us at the Auto Expo last year. The Maruti Suzuki eVX has been spotted testing several times and is expected to be launched in the market by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
