Tata Motors has made a bold statement at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 by unveiling the highly anticipated Dark Edition of the facelifted Nexon EV, reinforcing the model’s allure with a sleek, all-black aesthetic. The Nexon EV, initially introduced in 2020, has solidified its position as one of India’s favored electric passenger cars, and this latest iteration is set to elevate its appeal even further.
The Dark Edition, a tradition in Tata’s lineup, embraces an exclusive all-black paint scheme, exuding a sense of sophistication. Noteworthy EV-specific details include lightning-blue inserts on the fog lamp housings and the lower front grille, adding a touch of electrifying flair to the design. Complementing the theme, the alloy wheels receive the blackout treatment, harmonizing with the overall dark aesthetic.
Stepping inside, the interior of the Nexon EV Dark Edition follows suit with an all-black theme, accentuated by blue highlights on the dashboard and seat upholstery. The design exudes a contemporary and premium feel, creating a captivating environment for occupants. Importantly, the features and equipment remain consistent with the regular model, with the Dark Edition based on the top trims of both the Long and Mid Range variants.
In terms of power and performance, the Long Range variant of the Nexon EV boasts a 40.5 kWh battery, offering an impressive claimed range of 425 km on a full charge. On the other hand, the Mid Range variant, equipped with a 30 kWh battery, provides a commendable driving range of 325 km. The electric SUV features four-level braking regeneration as standard and offers three distinct driving modes – Eco, City, and Sport. It also supports advanced features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, enhancing its practicality for users.
Inside the Nexon EV, the spotlight shines on the attractive two-spoke steering wheel, complete with an illuminating logo at the center. The vehicle comes equipped with a range of notable features, including an electric sunroof, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlamps, connected LED taillamps, and rain-sensing wipers.
As for the pricing, the current range for the Tata Nexon EV is Rs. 14.74 lakh to Rs. 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). With the introduction of the Dark Edition variants, an upward adjustment in pricing is anticipated, potentially surpassing the Rs. 20 lakh ex-showroom mark. Enthusiasts eagerly await the imminent launch of the Nexon EV Dark Edition, marking another milestone in Tata Motors’ electrifying journey.
