Maruti Suzuki’s FRONX SUV, introduced through NEXA, has achieved a remarkable feat in the Indian automotive landscape by becoming the fastest passenger vehicle to reach 1 lakh sales within a span of just 10 months since its launch. This achievement not only sets a new industry benchmark but also underlines the accelerated growth of Maruti Suzuki in the SUV segment, making it the leading SUV maker in H1, FY2023-24.
Launched globally at the Auto Expo 2023 and officially introduced on April 24, 2023, the FRONX SUV has garnered immense success owing to its ‘Shape of New’ philosophy. This design approach seamlessly combines futuristic design elements, high ground clearance, advanced technology, and a commanding presence. The FRONX stands out in the market, catering to the evolving preferences of SUV enthusiasts, offering a unique personality, and delivering an engaging driving experience. Its popularity has been particularly pronounced among the younger demographic who appreciate its tech-loaded premium features and the flexibility of multiple powertrain options.

Furthermore, FRONX played a pivotal role in doubling Maruti Suzuki’s SUV segment share from 10.4% in 2022 to an impressive 19.7% in CY2023. The SUV has been received positively by customers, establishing itself as a trendsetter in the market.
The automatic variants of FRONX have contributed significantly to its success, constituting 24% of total sales, indicating a growing preference for clutch-less transmission options. The introduction of the 1.0L turbo Boosterjet engine has attracted buyers seeking a spirited driving experience. The recently introduced S-CNG variant caters to those looking for a fuel-efficient and eco-friendly SUV, providing a best-in-class fuel-efficiency of 28.51 km/kg.
In line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, Maruti Suzuki has extended its commitment by exporting the FRONX to Latin America, the Middle East, and South-East Asian markets. The company has successfully exported over 9000 units of the FRONX, reinforcing its global presence.
The FRONX SUV offers advanced next-gen powertrain and transmission options, including the all-new 1.0L K-Series Boosterjet petrol engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid technology. Customers can also enjoy a host of features such as a Head-Up Display with turn-by-turn navigation, 360 View Camera, wireless smartphone charger, and a 22.86 cm (9”) HD Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
