Kia Carens MPV base variant conversion into top X-Line variant [Video]

The Kia Carens is one of the most premium MPVs for sale in India. The model is popular for its sporty design and comfortable ride. The company offers the Carens with a starting price of Rs 10.45 lakh, going all the way up to 19.45 lakh. Now, a lot of people opt for the fully loaded luxury line variant or the X-Line variant; however, a lot more people go for the lower trim variants. They simply take their base spec Carens to aftermarket shops and modify them according to their needs. Recently, a video of one such base Kia Carens modified into the X-Line variant has been shared online.

The video comes courtesy of Vig Auto Accessories on YouTube. Unlike all the other videos where the owner of the shop directly shows the finished product, in this video, he shows the installation process of all the accessories. He mentions that this particular Carens has come to their shop all the way from Hyderabad. He also shows another Kia Carens on the side, which was being delivered, and the owner brought it all the way from Bangalore.

Side Profile Updates

Soon after, the presenter shows the fully completed final product. He starts with the side profile of the Carens MPV and mentions that the list of updates on this Carens on the side includes new and fully replaced chrome door handles, genuine Kia window visors, genuine Kia side claddings with silver accents, new aftermarket side steps, and luxury line chrome garnishes on the window moldings.

He adds that they have also added genuine Kia X-Line alloy wheels. Apart from these modifications, he also shows the newly installed high-gloss black PPF on the top half portion of this MPV. This was done to provide a dual-tone appearance to the MPV. Lastly, he also shows the black roof rails and fully functioning shark fin antenna as well.

Front Updates

Moving on, he then shows the front of the Carens. He starts by mentioning that they have changed the LED DRLs of the MPV and have provided it with new Osram LED projector headlights. He also shows the newly added Hella Black Magic LED fog lights on the lower grille as well. Moving on, he finally adds that in the front, they have also replaced the matte silver surrounds of the lower grille with factory luxury line chrome garnishes.

Rear Upgrades

Moving on to the rear of the Carens MPV, he adds that not much has been changed. He mentions that, just like the front, they have also replaced the matte silver surrounds with luxury line chrome surrounds on the lower section of the bumper.

Interior Modifications

Next, the presenter opens the front door of the Carens MPV and shows the first convenience modification done by them. He displays the newly added auto-folding ORVMs, which he mentions have been given the same button positioning as the model which comes equipped with it from the factory. While showing the button on the door, he also shows the new leather-wrapped door panel as well.

Following these, he moves to the other major modifications of the interior. He first shows the newly added D-Cut leather-wrapped steering wheel along with techno print high-gloss black dashboard that comes in the more expensive variants of the model. He also shows the newly added white and black soft leatherette seat covers of the MPV.

Lastly, he moves to the boot of the MPV and shows all of the audio upgrades done to this Carens. He mentions that the owner requested genuine and high-quality products. For this, he mentions that they have added the Blaupunkt Santa Rosa 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Sony ES series speakers and components. Finally, he delivers the car to the awaiting customer.
