The current third generation of the Toyota Fortuner is now due for a replacement. At the moment, the company has not revealed any new design for the Fortuner’s next-generation model. But enthusiasts have been creating renders of what they believe could become the new Fortuner. Recently, another new rendering of the Toyota Fortuner was shared on X by Torque India. And from the looks of it, we can say that it looks like a baby Land Cruiser.

Toyota Fortuner Fourth Generation
Since its introduction to the Indian market in 2009, the Toyota Fortuner has captured the hearts of SUV enthusiasts. Over the years, it has built a robust fan base. And if this rendered car becomes a reality, it could add more to the popularity of the Fortuner.
This particular rendered model takes its inspiration from the mighty Land Cruiser models. We can note that it boasts a design language characterized by ruggedness and commanding presence. At the front, it boasts a design evolution with a fascia that looks very bold and imposing.
A new large grille with two thick horizontal elements has been given to this rendered Fortuner. Eagle-eyed viewers could also note similarities between the Toyota Tacoma and this SUV as well. It also gets rectangular air vents and chunky headlights.
This particular design moves away from the current sharp and sleek design language of the third-generation model. Moving along the side profile, it gets squared-off wheel arches with thick black claddings.
Additionally, the alloy wheels also look a lot more rugged than the ones that we currently see on the third-gen model. The boxier overall profile pays homage to the design language of the Land Cruiser that we have known and loved.
Moving on to the rear, it looks radically different from the current generation SUV. It gets vertically stacked LED taillights, a rear spoiler, and a chunky rear bumper. Once again, the boxy design language has taken over the sleek lines from the current model.
Upcoming Fortuner to Get Hybrid Engine
Recently, Toyota has launched the Fortuner hybrid version in South Africa. Reportedly, this same model is about to be launched in India as well. The new Fortuner hybrid utilizes the same 2.8-litre diesel engine paired with a mild hybrid system.
The current generation Fortuner hybrid generates 201 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. It comes equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. Most likely, the company, with the launch of the next-generation model, will continue to offer this same hybrid powertrain.

Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that the company is working on a smaller and more economical alternative to the popular Fortuner. As per the reports, this new mini Fortuner could be called Toyota FJ Cruiser or Land Cruiser FJ.
Additionally, reports have also stated that it will share its platform and powertrain options with the recently launched Toyota Hilux Champ pickup truck. The IMV 0 platform, upon which both vehicles are built, has a rich history, forming the foundation for iconic models like the Hilux, Fortuner, and Innova.
