The launch of the new fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is inching closer, and just before its official launch, its test mule sightings have become more frequent. Recently, another test mule of the upcoming Swift was spotted testing in the outskirts of Delhi NCR. As per the video of this test vehicle shared online, it could be the second top variant of the new Swift. This test mule reveals a few more details about the 2024 Swift.
The video of the Maruti Suzuki Swift test mule has been shared on YouTube by 91 Wheels on their channel. It starts off with a rear shot of the Swift test vehicle. As mentioned, this car was spotted in the outskirts of Delhi NCR on the expressway.
It was noted that there were a total of four passengers inside, including the driver. As for the details of this particular variant, it is believed that this was the second top ZXI variant.
The primary reason for this being the ZXI variant was that it was equipped with alloy wheels, rear window wiper, washer, and defogger. However, it did not have the LED headlights and DRLs that we have seen on the unveiled model.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Exterior Design
For the newest fourth-generation model of the Swift, Maruti Suzuki has given it a major design overhaul. This time around, the already popular hatchback will boast a much more premium-looking exterior. It will come equipped with a brand-new front grille with a gloss black surround and honeycomb pattern.
It will also get a set of new, sleeker-looking LED headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs. In addition, the front bonnet will also get a new, more rounded shape. The side profile will be dominated by an unbroken shoulder line. This particular line will run across the entire car.
Unlike the current generation model, Maruti Suzuki will offer the Swift with traditional-style door handles. This means that the rear door handles that used to be hidden on the rear door have gone. Additionally, it will also get new turbine-style five-spoke machined alloy wheels.
Updates at the rear include a redesigned tailgate, a more aggressive bumper, and new LED taillights. The length of the new Swift has increased by 30 mm, while height and width have seen a reduction of 40 mm and 30 mm, respectively.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Interior Design
Coming to the interior, like the exterior, the company has updated the interior as well. The new 2024 Swift will get a Maruti Fronx and Grand Vitara-inspired interior. It will look a lot more premium than the pretty basic interior of the current-generation model.
The main highlight of the new interior will be a floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the dashboard will get a layered dual-tone design. It will also get a new automatic climate control system and a multifunction steering wheel.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Powertrain
A number of reports have stated that the company will be launching the new Swift with a new drivetrain. It is believed that Maruti will offer the new Z-Series 3-cylinder petrol engine in the Swift. This new engine could produce a maximum power of 83 bhp and come mated to a 12V mild hybrid system.
Additionally, the company, in international markets, is offering the new Swift with a CVT automatic transmission. However, the Indian model will most likely get a manual transmission and an automatic transmission. Reportedly, this new drivetrain will offer a mileage of around 30-35 kmpl.
