First off, the company will be taking the covers off of its most unique offering in India – the Toyota Taisor. This new crossover SUV will be based on the already popular Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Taisor will be another badge-engineered model, which will be the fruit of the longstanding partnership of Toyota and Maruti Suzuki in India. As per reports, the new Toyota Taisor will be launched in India around April of this year. Most likely, the company will change a few things on the exterior, including the front and rear bumpers, to create a difference between the Fronx and Taisor.

As for the powertrain side of things, Toyota Taisor will come equipped with the same engine options as the outgoing Maruti Fronx. These include the 1.2-litre 90 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. Additionally, the 1.0-litre 100 PS turbocharged petrol engine with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options will also be available with the Taisor. Some reports have stated that Toyota can offer the Taisor CNG variant based on the 1.2-litre petrol engine, similar to the Fronx as well.

Next up on the launch roster of Toyota is the Fortuner hybrid SUV. Before you get excited, we have to let you know that as of yet, no official launch date or timeline for this highly anticipated SUV has been shared online. However, some reports have stated that it could be unveiled around the end of this year. A while ago, a few pictures of the Toyota Fortuner hybrid were leaked online, and it showed a completely new design for the front end and side profile. The SUV was noted with a grille and fascia looking similar to the MG Gloster. The headlights were also looking different.

Coming to the main highlight of this SUV, it will be its hybrid powertrain. As per the sources, the company could be equipping the outgoing 2.8-litre GD Series four-cylinder diesel engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It is believed that this hybrid system will be borrowed from the Innova Hycross strong hybrid, which is already a huge hit in the Indian car market.

Apart from the hybrid Fortuner, the company is also looking to reduce its carbon footprint by launching a new all-electric SUV in the country. Toyota recently shared a concept of its Urban SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX, which is MSIL’s first fully electric vehicle and slated to be launched around December of this year. Most likely, Toyota’s electric SUV will be making its debut around mid-2025.

It has been revealed that the all-new Toyota Urban SUV EV concept will share its 27PL skateboard platform with the Maruti Suzuki eVX. At the moment, the company has not revealed the exact powertrain specifications of this SUV concept. However, it has stated that it will be offered with both front and all-wheel-drive powertrains. It is believed that it will get the same 60 kWh battery pack as the Maruti eVX and offer a range of 550. Additionally, reports suggest that the company could also offer a smaller 48 kWh battery pack as well.

Based on the outgoing hybrid mid-size SUV Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the company could be soon launching a seven-seater iteration of this popular SUV. Like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, this SUV will also be based on the Maruti Grand Vitara and its own seven-seater version codenamed the Y17. Most likely, it will feature a slightly updated exterior design. Apart from this, it is believed that the company will also be offering the same powertrains as the outgoing model.

The first option is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (92 bhp-122 Nm) running on the Atkinson cycle, and an electric motor that puts out 78 Bhp-141 Nm. This powertrain is paired with an eCVT automatic gearbox, and the combined output stands at 114 Bhp. Apart from this, the other option is a mild-hybrid powertrain. This drivetrain consists of a 1.5-liter K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm) paired with an electric motor that offers assistance during acceleration. The K15C petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and offers an all-wheel-drive system.
