230 BHP Tata Nano With Hayabusa Engine Spotted Again [Video]

The Tata Nano is always considered a humble little city car. This is not a car that one would buy if they are looking for performance. There are several modified versions of the Tata Nano available in India. In most cases, these modifications are just cosmetic. However, a company from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, decided to make the Nano a lot sportier not just in terms of looks but performance too. Here we have a video of the world’s most powerful Tata Nano that has been modified by JA Motorsports.

The video of the Super Nano, or the modified Tata Nano, has been circulating on various social media platforms. In this video, we only get to hear the loud exhaust of this small hatchback. It should be noted that a stock Tata Nano was powered by a 600-cc, 2-cylinder engine that generates 37 Bhp and 51 Nm of peak torque.

The sound you hear in this video is not coming from the stock engine. JA Motorsports completely replaced the engine with a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine from a Suzuki Hayabusa. This engine now generates a maximum of 230 Hp and 190 Nm of peak torque. With these modifications in place, this is the most powerful Nano in the world.

The exterior of this small hatchback has been customized too. It now sits closer to the ground than ever before. The bumper has been replaced with a custom-made body kit with massive air vents at the front. To ensure that the Nano can handle all this power without flying off the road, the tracks have been widened. The fenders have been widened to accommodate the wider wheels.

The suspension on this Super Nano has also been tuned or upgraded to match the performance. The car sits low, and to perform better on the tracks, the interior of the car has been stripped down. It does have a roll cage for added protection.

The Super Nano is designed for performance, and this heavily tuned and modified Nano can do a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6 seconds. The top speed of the car is limited to 160 km/h.

The car gets an open exhaust which is extremely loud as heard in this video. It should be noted that this car is not road legal by any means. It is not suitable for Indian roads, even if it manages to get a fitness certificate. The chances of scraping the underbody on broken roads and speed breakers are pretty high.

This is a car meant to be driven on tracks only. This is probably a one-of-a-kind track machine. It looks like JA Motorsports will build one of these for you at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, as long as you plan to use it only on the track. The Nano was Ratan Tata’s brainchild. He wanted to improve the quality of people’s lives by launching an affordable family car in India.

It was the cheapest car in the world. The “cheap” tag in the Tata Nano’s name is what worked against the car. Indians who considered a car an aspirational product did not like the fact that the Nano was called cheap, and that resulted in low sales and later the production ended.
