Over the last few years in India, the craze for fully blacked-out cars has increased a lot. Taking note of this increasing demand, a number of major automakers in the country have started offering black editions of their popular models. The most recent carmaker to join this trend is Mahindra Automotive. The company recently launched its XUV700 finished in a beautiful shade of Napoli Black, giving it a host of new features. The presenter starts the video by mentioning that the company has recently launched this model with an additional price of Rs 50,000. She states that this video will help the interested buyers of the XUV700 to understand if they should upgrade their standard model to this edition or not.
Following the brief introduction, the presenter then starts the walkaround of the XUV700 finished in Napoli Black from the front. The new model now comes with a completely blacked-out exterior. She mentions that all of the chrome and brushed silver accents and garnishes have been blacked out by the company. The only non-black element on the outside is the brushed silver skid plate at the front. Next up, she mentions that the LED headlights, ADAS camera and sensors, and all the other design elements have been kept the same.
Next up, she moves to the side profile of the car, which she states has not received any major updates. The major changes on the side profile are the new blacked-out alloy wheels which carry forward the same design as the standard color models. Additionally, it now also gets a blacked-out window trim garnish. Lastly, she shows the rear end of the car which has not received any substantial changes. The new XUV700 has also been given the addition of dual-tone color schemes as well.
Following the exterior walkaround, the presenter then shows the interior of the new Mahindra XUV700. She states that, unlike other Dark Edition models, the XUV700 has not been given a completely black interior and instead gets a black and beige color interior which looks a lot more roomy than all-black interiors. The list of new features on the 2024 XUV700 includes sports-ventilated front seats, first-in-segment memory ORVMs, and captain seats for the second row. The car also gets 13 new connected car features and an updated Adrenox software, which is Mahindra’s proprietary system.
Powertrain and Pricing
The presenter then states that no changes have been made to the mechanical side of things on the 2024 XUV700. The car still comes available with the 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers 200bhp, while the diesel engine boasts 155bhp or 185bhp, depending on the variant. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, with an optional AWD for those seeking enhanced traction. As for the pricing, the MX base variant has been priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, the second base AX3 has been priced at Rs 16.39 lakh, and the mid-spec AX5 at Rs 17.69 lakh. The top-spec AX7 and AX7L have been priced at Rs 21.29 lakh and Rs 23.99 lakh, respectively.
